Linux virtual dedicated servers

August 19th, 2009

The Linux virtual dedicated servers are open source server software which has been developed and dispensed for implementation. The implementation is conducted by providing the necessary capabilities to Linux Kernel. The Linux vps was started in May 1998 by Wensong Zhang. It is basically a load balancing solution for the use in Linux systems. The
virtual private servers is based on the clustering technology and the major benefits of using this technology is that it provides scalability, serviceability and reliability. Most of the Linux VPS is available with a disk space of 10 GB to 60 GB or more and with capabilities for data transfer ranging from 200 GB to more than1000 GB. Such servers are likely to be of much benefit for the small companies as it is bound to help them financially and hence this would seem a more viable and a feasible option. The flexibility that the Linux operating system provides seems just right and most suited for the Linux VPS. It also provides the server with an environment that is isolated and exclusive and which helps the server to be able to share its resources. Though with the member of each part of the virtual server is served with one server with which the member enjoys the benefits as that of the dedicated server, the benefit in the true sense is the cost that comes to just about a fraction of what would have been paid for a dedicated server. Thus each server enjoys benefits like web server and control panel and each of the servers can be rebooted individually without any dependence on the main server, because of each one having its own application ability. This enables the end user to posses more control and power over their servers making Linux virtual private servers more in demand by most individuals.
